MEN ARRESTED IN BELFAST OVER ARMED ROBBERY ON SHOP

Police scene armed copDETECTIVES investigating an armed robbery in north Antrim have arrested two males.

The robbery happened in Armoy on Saturday evening, December 13.

Police say that at around 7 pm two males, armed with a suspected firearm and knife, entered a shop in the Coolkeeran Road area and demanded money.

They made off with cash and a quantity of cigarettes.

Fortunately, mo-one was injured in the incident.

A spokesperson said: “The two males, aged 22 and 16, were later arrested in the North Belfast area.

“They are currently assisting police with their enquiries.”
