POLICE are investigating a minor road collision in west Belfast during which the driver fled the scene.
The PSNI say officers responded to a report that a blue Renault Laguna involved in a minor collision in the Springfield Road area had failed to stop and remain at the scene.
Officers followed the vehicle and at approximately 10.50am an individual abandoned the car and ran into the Gortnamona area.
Police enquiries are continuing.
Chief Inspector Anthony McNally says: “I would appeal to anyone who may have information relating to this incident to contact officers at Woodbourne station on 101 or alternatively information can be provided anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
