WOMAN CHARGED OVER BELFAST CITY CENTRE KNIFEPOINT CARJACKING

Laganside Court houseDETECTIVES have charged a woman over a hijacking in Belfast.

It follows the arrest of a man and woman on suspicion of a number of offences, including aggravated vehicle taking following a road traffic collision on the Drumilly Road in Armagh yesterday afternoon, Monday 24 November.
Detective Chief Inspector Gary Reid confirmed that the 23 year old female has been charged with hijacking and aggravated vehicle taking.

She will appear at Laganside Magistrates Court on Tuesday 23 December.

The 22 year old male has been released pending further enquiries.

Earlier today, the PSNI said the victim, a woman was getting into her Peugeot 208 car at Talbot Street on Monday when she was approached by two men and a woman who hijacked the vehicle.

A spokesman said the woman was left badly shaken following the incident.
