POLICE say officers carried out two searches this weekend in the Tigers Bay area of north Belfast under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A spokesperson said: “As a result of the searches a small quantity of suspected herbal cannabis and a quantity of prescription medication was recovered.

“One person has been reported to Public Prosecution Service for prosecution.

“A number of items have been submitted for forensic examination.

“If anyone has information about persons dealing drugs in their community please talk to their local neighbourhood officer or call us on 101.

“They can also provide information anonymously through the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
