THE NIFRS say that over 50 firefighters are dealing with a fire at a recycling plant.

The blaze broke out at 4.45 am this morning at the RecyCo waste processing plant on Barony Road, in Omagh, Co Tyrone.

Fire chiefs have advised members of the public to avoid the area and keep roads clear for emergency services.

A spokesman said crews had the fire under control.

He added that fight teams had stopped the fire from spreading throughout the plant.

Crews are expected to remain at the scene until lunchtime.
