Chief Inspector David Moore said: “I appeal to anyone with information in relation to these incidents and would ask anyone who witnessed these incidents to contact Musgrave station on 101.

“Alternatively information can be provided anonymously through independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

“I also appeal to parents to ensure that they know the whereabouts of their children as anyone that is caught engaging in disorder or criminal damage is likely to end up with a criminal record.”

Since April, scores of young people have been arrested and charged over interface violence in east Belfast.

It has been costing the PSNI £30,000 per night to patrol the area and keep rival youths apart.
