DCI Justyn Galloway says death of man in west Belfast is being treated as murder

A 28 year man has died in hospital from his injuries following a shooting incident in the Clonfaddan Crescent area of West Belfast on Friday evening.

Detectives have arrested two men aged 33 years and 30 years and a female aged 31 year old in connection with the incidents.

The 30 year old man arrested was also treated in hospital for stab wounds believed to be sustained in a related incident.

Police believe a fight had broken out around an hour earlier im broad daylight before a the shooting took place.

Both incidents are being treated as related by detectives.

Commenting Detective Chief Inspector Justyn Galloway said:  ‘I appeal to anyone who was in Clanfaddan Crescent in the Divis area around 5 pm yesterday evening.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the Albert Street area round 4.30 pm and witnessed a related incident to contact detectives at Musgrave on the non emergency number 101 or alternatively contact the charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
