DETECTIVES at Woodbourne Police Station are conducting an investigation after a loaded firearm was discovered in North Howard Street, Belfast.
Detective Inspector Nicola Scott said: “The weapon was handed into police on Thursday morning by a member of the public who found it in the underground car park of an apartment block.
“ATO examined the gun and it has now been rendered safe and seized for further examination.
“Police are grateful to the member of the public for bringing the weapon to our attention and we are keen to hear from anyone who has any information about the gun or how it came to be in the car park.
