musgrave psniDETECTIVES have charged a teenager who was arrested after two petrol bombs were thrown at police last night.

The PSNI say that officers were on duty at the junction of Castlereagh Street and Templemore Avenue in east Belfast on Sunday following reports that bins had been set alight.

Police dispersed a crowd of youths who had gathered in the area at the time and no one was injured during the trouble.

A 17-year-old male youth was arrested for attempted criminal damage in relation to the incident and taken to the custody suite at Musgrave PSNI station.

He has now been charged and bailed pending an appearance at Belfast Youth Court next month.

There has been ongoing trouble in the area in recent months and police have deployed mobile support units nightly to the area.
