A number of roads in west Belfast have been closed while a suspicious vehicle is checked.

Police say the occupants of the car, which was stolen this evening, fled on foot away after it collided with another car.

A woman and a child from the other car were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital after the crash for treatment to injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening.

As a result, the Falls Road is currently closed between Whiterock Road and Glen Road and diversions are now in place.
