THREE ARRESTED OVER WEST BELFAST CRIME SPREE

Woodbourne PSNI stationPOLICE in West Belfast say officers made three arrests in two separate incidents in the early hours of this morning, Thursday, 7th August.

A spokesman said: “After observing a car being driven dangerously in the Divis Street area of Belfast at approximately 3.30am, officers pursued the vehicle.

“When it was abandoned, they arrested a 16 year old male at the scene on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to property, dangerous driving, using a motor vehicle without Insurance and driving while disqualified by reason of age.

The youth remains in Police custody, and is helping with enquiries.”

The spokesman added that two men, both aged 25, were arrested by Police in west Belfast less then an hour earlier.

They were detained on suspicion of burglary of licensed premises in the Garmoyle Street area of Belfast at approximately 2.45am.

Both men are currently in police custody and are helping with enquiries.
