The 118 Irish coastguard rescue helicopter was involved airlifting the man from Cavehill

A man is in a serious but stable condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital after a fall in Cavehill, north Belfast.

The PSNI say it called in the Irish Coastguard helicopter from Dublin to help with the man’s rescue at around 5.45pm yesterday.

The helicopter was guided into the area by police and paramedics.

The injured man was eventually airlifted out of the area and subsequently taken by ambulance to hospital.
