TWO MEN HUNTED OVER HATCHET ROBBERY BID

Woodbourne PSNI stationDETECTIVES in west Belfast are investigating the report of an attempted robbery in the Andersonstown Road area on the morning of Monday 4th August.

It was reported that at around 9am, as a man was outside a local bank, he was approached by two males armed with a knife and a hatchet.

A struggle ensued as the males attempted to take money from the man but the two males made off empty handed in a grey coloured car.

The man suffered an injury to his arm during the struggle but did not require medical treatment.

The male carrying the knife was described as being around 5’5″ tall, of slim build and was wearing a camouflage jacket with hood and a black scarf over his face.

The second male was around 5’11” and carried the hatchet.

Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed this incident or who has any information to contact them in Woodbourne on the non emergency number 101.
