Man remanded over attempted murder

A 29-year-old man has denied making threats to kill former councillor Jimmy Carr.

Robert Fisher, of Ivy Mead Mews was charged with making the threat against Mr Carr on 6 May last when he appeared at Derry Magistrates Court.

The charge relates to an attack on Mr Carr while he was canvassing homes in the Carnhill area in the run up to the elections to the Derry and Strabane District Council.

Fisher, who admitted a charge of assault on Mr Carr, was released on bail to appear back in court again on 11 August next.
