FIRE crews rescued two poeple from a fire in a flat above a chip shop on the Newtownards Road yesterday in east Belfast.

A total of four persons were exposed to smoke however none received any treatment.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet, a main jet and a ventilation fan to deal with the incident.

The fire started in a store at the rear of the building..
