ACC George Hamilton blamed UDA for attacks on Larne homes

DETECTIVES have charged two men with attempted murder over UDA mob attacks on homes earlier this year.

The pair, a 28-year-old and a 34-year-old, also face charges of riot, intimidation and criminal damage over the incident on Sunday, March 30.

They are to face Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning.

A 36-year-old woman has also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

She will appear in Ballymena Magistrates’ Court next month.

The three were arrested earlier on Thursday in connection with the disorder, in which up to 100 people took part.

They were the 27th, 28th and 29th people arrested as part of the UDA attacks.

The suspects were taken to the serious crime suite in Antrim for questioning.

One man was seriously injured and a police officer suffered an inury to his eye during the disturbances.

ACC George Hamilton blamed the UDA’s south east Antrim brigade for the attacks claiming they were on a “power trip”.
