PSNI helicopter used in hunt for house burglars

THE PSNI scrambled its ‘India 99’ helicopter earlier today in a bid to catch burglars.

The copter sprung into action after a man was confronted in a house at Waringstown by three men armed with screwdrivers.

Police received a call around 11.35 am saying hree males were inside a house on Acre Lane.

A member of the public challenged these males who approached him with screwdrivers before making off on foot.

One of the males is described as being tall and slim with dark hair and a bruise on his face.

The second male is described as being 5ft 8in/9in tall with dark brown hair and is wearing a blue, zipped up top.

The third male is smaller in height, slim and is wearing a green t-shirt.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them on the non-emergency number 1o1.
