NI ROADS CLAIM TWO MORE VICTIMS

police accident 1POLICE have launched separate investigations after two men died today on Northern Ireland’s roads.

It brings to four the number of people killed on the province’s road since Saturday – and the third motorcyclist.

A 36 year old male motorcyclist died following a two vehicle crash on the Deerpark Road area of Portaferry this afternoon.

The collision took place at around 2.10pm and involved a blue and white Yamaha R1 motorcycle and a white BMW 3 series car.

Police in Newry have confirmed that 68 year old Wilfred Vaughan Chambers from the Newry area has died following a three vehicle crash in the Windsor Hill area this afternoon,

The collision took place at around 3 pm. One man remains in hospital being treated for injuries which are not thought to be life threatening.

Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collisions is asked to contact them in Steeple on the non-emergency number 101.
