Teen charged over petrol bomb attack on Clifton Street Orange Hall.

DETECTIVES in north Belfast have charged a teenage boy following a sectarian petrol bomb attack.

PSNI officers on mobile patrol witnessed the boy throw the device at Clifton Street Orange hall close to Carlisle Circus around 10 pm on Saturday night.

The device fell short of the property and no damage was caused.

The teen has been charged with possession of a petrol bomb in suspicious circumstances, throwing petrol bomb and attempted criminal damage.

As is normal procedure the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

The accused is to appear at Belfast Youth Court on Friday, June 20.

The Orange Hall has been a long standing target for attack by republicans in the area.

Last year it came under constant attack in the run up to the start of the marching season.
