Man to appear at Belfast Magsitrates’ Court charged with possession of a gun and ammo

DETECTIVES working as part of Operation Reiner have charged a 43 year old man with possession of firearms and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

He is due to appear at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court this morning for a first remand hearing.

The charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service as is normal procedure.

A 41 year old woman has been released pending a report to the PPS.

On Wednesday, Richard Cartmill, 41, of Tullyard Way, east Belfast appeared at Belfast Magistrates’ Court charged with possession of ammunition in suspicious circumstances.

He was granted bail but must report to police daily and abide by a nighttime curfew.#
