DETECTIVES from the PSNI’s Terrorist Investigation Unit have arrested a man in connection with last weekend’s mob attack on homes in Larne.

The 31-year-old was detained in the Carrickfergus area under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act.

He is currently being questioned at the serious crime suite in Antrim.

Police said he was arrested over “disorder” in Larne on Sunday 30 March during which a number of homes in the Co Antrim town were damaged and a PSNI officer was injured.

ACC George Hamilton blamed the UDA’s south east Antrim brigade for the attacks claiming they were on a “power trip”.
