POLICE in Newtownabbey are appealing for information following a shooting incident ON Friday evening.

It happened in the Gortmore Terrace area around 6.40 pm.

A man, believed to be aged in his 20s, was shot in his ankle. He has been taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
