AN Irish bomb disposal team have removed a suspicious object from a filling station following an overnight security operation along the main Derry to Buncrana road.

Gardai sealed the Gala Filling Station in Burnfoot at around 4.00pm yesterday, stating they were attending a “serious incident.”

The object was discovered in a flat over the filling station and Gardai said their investigations into the incident were continuing.

The filling station has been reopened.
