BAKING UP SOME BRIGHT IDEAS… Colin Todd of Brennans Bread and Ruth Cooper of Replay Theatre are joined by Cillian Whittaker, Grace McCracken and James Morrison who will be baking up some bright ideas at the Ideas Oven, a series of fun afternoons organised by Replay Theatre and Brennans Bread with support from Arts & Business NI.

CHILDREN and parents looking for something fun, creative and FREE to do this half term break are invited to take part in the Ideas Oven, a fresh new initiative baked up by Replay Theatre Company in association with popular family bread brand Brennans.

The Ideas Oven which runs from February 17-21 in the Skainos Centre, Belfast, is completely free of charge and offers kids aged 3-5 an afternoon of fun filled activities.

Each day will end with a Teddy Bears picnic where the children will be encouraged to explore their creative sides and make something ingenious with a loaf of Brennans Bread.

As well as giving kids a fun day out, Replay’s Executive Director Ruth Cooper is hopeful that the Ideas Oven will provide the company with inspiration for content to include in future theatre productions.

“During Ideas Oven, we will actually be experimenting with ideas ourselves. The children will be showing us what works for that age group, and what really excites and engages them. But they won’t even know that they are helping – they will just be having fun,” said Ruth.

“Brennans support has been invaluable to Replay’s programme of work over the last three years and we’re delighted to continue our partnership with such an iconic household brand which has real family appeal and will allow us to reach more and more young people across the country.

“Half term is always a break in which parents are looking for ways to entertain their children and keep them occupied so with sessions running daily from Monday February 17 to Friday February 21, we are inviting kids from all over Northern Ireland to come along and join in,” she added.

Colin Todd, Business Development Manager of Brennans Bread, claims that the continued sponsorship of Replay provides a chance for the bakery to help deliver creative opportunities for schools across Northern Ireland.

“Children can be tremendously creative at a very early age and Brennans is delighted to team up once again with Replay to deliver the Ideas Oven which will give children a fantastic opportunity to show their creativity whilst having fun at the same time,” said Colin.

“Our partnership with Replay is proving to be the perfect match as it reflects the brand’s core values of family, freshness and quality and we’re looking forward to working together on a theatre programme which is sure to feed young imaginations. With this in mind, the Ideas Oven certainly has all the ingredients for a fantastic day out,” he concluded.

Arts & Business NI also support the initiative and Lorraine Brett, Arts Manager said , ‘Arts & Business NI are delighted to support this great partnership between Brennan’s Bread and Reply, extending participation in Theatre and Arts to family groups and audiences in East Belfast’

The Ideas Oven will run from February 17-21 at 2pm in the Skainos Centre, Newtownards Rd, Belfast and is completely free. For further information or to secure a place, parents are advised to call Replay on 028 9045 4562 or email admin@replaytheatreco.org.
