FLYBE, Europe’s largest independent regional airline and the biggest operator at the George Best Belfast City Airport, has boosted its services to East Midlands Airport, one of its most popular routes from Belfast City.
It is replacing some Q400 turboprop services with a larger Embraer jet and by adding a second Saturday flight, bringing the total number of return weekly flights to 19.
The aircraft changes, which incorporates a 118-seat Embraer 195 aircraft to and from Northern Ireland on certain weekday flights, have also increased passenger capacity on Flybe’s services from East Midlands to Edinburgh and Glasgow.
As a result of the changes, there are now an extra seven thousand seats across the three routes to March 29th, 2014.
