DETECTIVES have released a 38-year-old man who had been arrested for questioning over the murder of north Belfast drug dealer Kevin Kearney.

The suspect was arrested on Monday in connection with the killing.

He was being held at the serious crime suite in Antrim under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

Police said the man was also being questioned over dissident republican threats made to a number of people in an Ardoyne social club last October.

A number of masked men into the club and ordered several people to leave or face the consequences.

However, detectives have now released the man unconditionally.

Mr Kearney, ,46, was blasted to death on October 7, 2013 after taking his dogs for a walk.

His body was found in a lake at Alexandra Park, off the Antrim Road, a day later.

The alarm was raised by his partner after his dogs returned home without him.
