FOUR CHINESE PEOPLE CHARGED OVER DONEGAL DRUGS HAUL

Garda officerTHREE women and a man have been charged tonight in connection with the seizure of €360,000 worth of cannabis in Donegal on Tuesday evening.

The women – one in her 60s and two in their 20s – and a man in his 30s will appear at Letterkenny District Court on Thursday morning.

All four are Chinese nationals.

They are charged in connection with possession and cultivation of cannabis with intent to supply.

The four were formally charged with the offences – in the presence of interpreters – at Letterkenny Garda Station last night.

The arrests followed a lengthy investigation by the Letterkenny Drugs Unit and surveillance of premises at Navenny Street, Ballybofey.

Gardaí spent today examining the premises and removing a large number of cannabis plants.

They have been sent for analysis, with a pre-analysis street value of €360,000.
