DETECTIVES have cordoned off part of a beach following the discovery of a man’s body.

The discovery was made on Ballyholme beach in Co Down around 7.30 am on Sunday morning.

However, Bangor CID do not at this stage believe the death is suspicious.

The remains are to be removed for a post mortem examination to determine the cause of his death.

Ballyholme shopkeeper and local independent councillor Alan Chambers tweeted: “Sad news for this family.”
