DETECTIVES have launched a murder inquiry over the deaths of a man and woman.

The couple were found murdered in their home at Ravenhill Court off the Ravenhill Road  in east Belfast around 2.45 pm on Friday.

Police were alerted following reports from members of the public.

It is understood detectives from the PSNI’s Major Investigation Team are following a definite line of inquiry into the killings

The PSNI have said the scene is “being preserved while enquiries are being carried out”.

Police search teams were drafted in on Saturday afternoon to search gardens for the murder weapon and any other forensic clues to the killer.
