STRABANE’S SuperValu is celebrating being the luckiest shop in Northern Ireland after local woman Margaret Loughrey scooped the largest ever Lottery win in the country.

Ms Loughrey is richer to the tune of £27m after purchasing a ‘Lucky Dip’ Euromillions Lotto ticket from the Main Street, Strabane store at the end of last month.

Colm Gallagher who manages the SuperValu shop in Strabane has congratulated Margaret and is convinced the store has a ‘lucky streak’ with a history of Lottery wins including £75,000 and £50,000.

“I’d like to congratulate our customer Margaret on this incredible win. The ticket was purchased as a one-off from our store and is the largest ever win in Northern Ireland which makes our store the luckiest,” said Colm.

“We have hundreds of customers taking part in the Lottery as part of their weekly grocery shop and we also have many who purchase Lucky Dips regularly.

“If you think about how many winners we’ve had from the small town of Strabane, this makes us a very lucky store and we are already seeing many more customers, both regular and new, purchasing Lottery tickets with us to try their luck!” he added.

Strabane also proved lucky for Londonderry man Ryan Magee who won £6.4m in the National Lottery on February 8, 2008. His winning ticket was bought at the Centra store in Ballymagorry Post Office.

SuperValu is part of Musgrave Retail Partners NI which supports almost 250 independent retail stores in Northern Ireland, including Centra and Mace.

Musgrave Retail Partners NI is part of the Musgrave Group, the leading partner to entrepreneurial retailers and food service professionals in the UK, Ireland and Spain.
