Detectives at Downpatrick CID appeal for information after shot fired at pub

DETECTIVES are investigating a gun attack on a public house.

A number of people escaped injury after a shot was fired at a bar in Newcastle in Co Down.

Yhe PSNI say two masked men, one armed with a gun, entered the bar on Main Street shortly before 9.30 pm on Friday night.

As they left, one of the men produced a handgun and fired off a single round.

Fortunately o-one was hurt.

Detectives in Downpatrick CID have appealed for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
