PSNI detectives hunting two men who assault victim in south Belfast

DETECTIVES in south Belfast have appealed for information after a weekend attack which has left a man critically injured.

A PSNI spokesman said a 58-year-old man was attacked by at least two men in the Linfield Avenue are of Sandy Row on Saturday last around 9.30 pm.

The victim is now fighting for his life in hospital on a life support machine.

The police say that before the assault, the men smashed windows at the house with a hammer and another unknown object.

The attackers are described as being in their early 2os.
