Two men to face Newry Magistrates’ Court charged with blackkmail

DETECTIVES have charged two men with blackmail following an investigation.

The men -aged 34 and 28 – are due in Newry Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.

The 34-year-old man has also been charged with making threats to kill and threats to damage to property.

The pair were arrested on Wednesday in the Newry area by detectives by the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch.

As is normal, the charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.
