POLICE have re-opened the M1 motorway.
Lanes in both directions have now been opened between Belfast and Lisburn.
The motorway was closed earlier between Broadway and Saintfield.
Army technical officers are examining what police are describing as a suspicious object at the Kennedy Way off-slip in west Belfast.
Both Kennedy Way and Stockmans Lane have also been closed approaching the M1 with traffic being diverted down the Andersonstown Road and Boucher Road.
Although the motorway has been opened, there are long delays for motorists heading into Belfast.
