Detectives arrest eight people in murder bid probe

DETECTIVES have arrested eight men for attempted murder after two early morning stabbings.

The suspects – aged 17 and 30 – were detained in connections with the knifings which police believed are connected.

In the first incident around 2.30 am, a 20-year-old man received a stab injury to his head.

Then an hour later, a man in his 20s, was stabbed a number of times to his body.

All eight men are being quizzed about a number of offences, including attempted murder, aggravated burglary and grievous bodily harm with intent.

Both injured men were taken to hospital for treatment to their injuries.

One of them has since been discharged.
