NEW SDLP MLA Fearghal McKinney signs the register at the Assembly on Monday.

Mr McKinney, 51, was selected on Thursday night to replace Conall McDevitt as the party’s MLA in south Belfast.

Also pictured is party leader Dr Alasdair McDonnell, deputy leader Dolores Kelly and Assembly speaker Willie Hay.

Mr McDevitt quit the week before after he became engulfed in a payments scandal.
