BELFAST City Council is to decide on Monday evening whether to award the freedom of the city to singer Van Morrison.
A special meeting is being held at Belfast City Hall at 6 pm to discuss the motion by former DUP Lord Mayor Gavin Robinson.
The meeting will streamed lived on the council’s podcast service.
The motion says that the Freedom of Belfast would recognise the extraordinary contribution the 68-year-old singer has made to the city.
‘Van the Man’ is famous all over the world and was brought up in east Belfast.
His hit songs include Brown Eyed Girl and Days Like This.
