Police at the scene in Belfast city centre where a woman’s body was found on Friday evening in ‘suspicious circumstances’

DETECTIVES are tonight investigating the suspicious death of a woman.

The body of the 49-year-old woman was found in flats close to St Anne’s Catheral in Belfast city centre.

It is believed her remains were discovered at Coopers Court flats on Hill Street in an area known as the Cathedral Quarter.

Crime scene investigators have been carrying out a finger tip search of the flat for clues.

A post mortem examination is to be carried out to give an exact cause of death.
