Police arrest a man and two women over arson attack on shops in west Belfast

DETECTIVES probing an arson attack on shops in west Belfast arrested three people on Thursday.

A 19-year-old man and two women, aged 21 and 23, were detained on suspicion of deliberately starting the fire at Pembroke Loop Road in Dunmurry on Tuesday.

A taxi office, a chip shop and a convenience store were gutted in the attack on the Colin Centre around 4 am.

Police believe that rubbish was piled up at the front the shops before being set alight.

The arson attack has robbed 30 local people of their jobs.
