DETECTIVES have arrested a 61 year-old man over a £500,000 cannabis plant haul.

The suspect was detained yesterday and is being quizzed over cultivating Class B drugs, conspiracy to supply drugs and transferring criminal property.

The arrest follows the discovery of a cannabis factory above a Chinese restaurant in Greyabbey, Co Down last Friday.

Two people faced Ards Magistrates’ Court on Monday over the find.

Phat Suong Chim, 46, and Tuyem Kim Nguyen, 24, both of Main Street, Greyabbey, were remanded in custody.

A detective told the court the cannabis factory was being run by an organised criminal gang.
