Two men due in Coleraine Magistrates Court charged with trafficking £70k meth haul

DETECTIVES have charged two men after drugs with an estimated street value of £70,000 were found this week.

Officers from the PSNI’s Organised Crime Branch recovered 3.5kg of methedrone during a search of a house in the Rathenraw estate.

They were assisted during the operation by officers from the UK Border Agency.

Two men, both aged 29, who were arrested at the scene, have been charged with drug trafficking.

During the search a a sawn-off shotgun was also found.

Both men have also been charged with money laundering.

One was also charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition in suspicious circumstances.

The pair are expected to appear in court in Coleraine Magistrates Court later on Wednesday.
