Police at the scene in Downpatrick where a woman has been knocked down by a car

POLICE are at the scene of an accident on Friday morning – the second in a town in a few days.

A woman was knocked down in Market Street, Downpatrick.

The accident was reported police around 10.25 am.

Days earlier a woman and a child were struck by a runaway horsebox in nearby Irish Street.

The weeks old baby was pulled to safety in its car seat from under the lorry.

The mother was trapped under the vehicle for half an hour before she was freed by firemen.
