A TEENAGER has faced a court accused of throwing a bottle at police last week.

The 19-year-old man was granted bail after being charged over rioting in Portadown on 19 July.

Thomas Hamilton, from Darling Avenue in Lurgan, was charged with riotous behaviour after he was allegedly seen throwing a bottle at police during a loyalist protest.

At the time, three petrol bombs were thrown in the Corcrain area.

A prosecution lawyer said there was no suggestion that Mr Hamilton had thrown any of the petrol bombs.
