SDLP MLA Patsy McGlone praises police seizure of £11,000 heroin haul

POLICE have arrested two men after officers seized £11,000 worth of suspected heroin.

The arrests were made after police stopped a car on the Desertmartin Road in Tobermore, Co Derry on Monday at 4.45 pm during an intelligence-led operation.

The men, aged 28 and 33, remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries.

SDLP Mid-Ulster MLA Patsy McGlone has praised the PSNI on what he described as a significant local drugs seizure.

“The PSNI must be commended for the investigation and work that went into this seizure as it will help keep illegal drugs off the streets.

“I would appeal for anyone with any information about this seizure or any other illegal drug activity to contact and cooperate with the PSNI.”
