Police name victim of Co Down road crash involving a motorbike and a car

A motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car in Co Down.

Richard Carson died after his bike collided with a blue Peugeot on the Ballysallagh Road in Crawfordsburn on Sunday afternoon.

The 40-year-old victim was from the Newtownards area.

He is the fifth person to die on Northern Ireland’s road in just over a week.

Police said the driver of the car has been taken to hospital to be treated for her injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening at this time.
