Police investigating TH cause of a car crash in which two people died this morning

POLICE have launched an investigation after two people died following a car crash in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Officers received a report shortly after 3.30 am that a blue BMW car was on fire in the Agivey Road area of Kilrea, Co Derry.

The PSNI, paramedics and fire crews rushed to the scene following the 999 emergency call.

When they arrived they discovered that the BMW car had been involved in a road traffic collision.

Police say it is believed that the two occupants of the vehicle have died.

The Agivey Road remains closed and police have appealed for information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
