A suspicious object has been found during a security alert in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim.
It was discovered close to a house in the Mayfield Road area at around 7pm on Sunday.
As a result, around 30 houses were evacuated while Army technical officers examined the object.
Residents have since been allowed to return to their homes.
A PSNI spokesperson said a number of items had been taken away for further examination.
Last week, a bomb was found on the Doagh Road in Newtownabbey.
Local DUP MLA Paul Bradshaw condemned those who had left the ‘viable device’ near homes.
