Police appeal after man shot in both legs in paramiltiary attack

A MAN is recovering in hospital after being shot in both legs in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim in what police are describing as a paramilitary style shooting.

It happened in the Castlemara Drive area of the town on Sunday at around 11.50pm.

The 29-year-old man’s injuries are not said to be life threatening.

Loyalists paramilitaries in the area are being blamed for carrying out the attack.

Police have asked anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
