Police at the scene of a security alert in Ballyclare

A security alert in Co Antrim on Thursday morning has now ended.

Following an examination, Army Technical Officers have declared it a hoax

Families in five homes in Ballyclare who were evacuated after the discovery of a suspect object have now been allowed to return.

It was found on the Millbank Road in the early hours of Thursday, sparking a security alert.

Police and army bomb experts are at the scene.

The Millbank Road has now reopened.
