Funerals to be held on Wednesday for Colin McPoland (lelft) and Kevin O’Hare

THE funerals will be held on Wednesday morning for a man and a teenage boy who drowned at a disused quarry in Co Down last weekend.

Kevin O’Hare, 15, got into trouble while swimming at the quarry in Annalong on Saturday evening.

Father of two Colin Polland, 39, died when he tried to rescue the teenager at Paul’s Quarry in the Glassdrumman Road area.

Kevin O’Hare’s funeral Mass will be held at St Michael’s Church, Finnis at 12.00pm.

At 1pm, Mr Polland’s funeral will place at St Patrick’s Church, Bryansford.

Hundreds of mourners are expected to attend, including some of those from the emergency services who attended last Saturday’s drowning tragedy.
